The Submissive (The Submissive Trilogy, # 1) - Tara Sue Me At what point in the future will all the fan fiction haters just relax and let a good book be a good book without downgrading it for how it began? Who freaking cares that it was previously fan fiction? I certainly do not. Nor do I understand what compels the haters to rate a book that they have never read and never plan to read. Authors have taken good ideas and put their own spin on it for ages, so, kudos to all the fan fiction writers for taking a chance and actually getting published. I commend you!

He was needy and I was what he needed.
He was hungry and I was the only thing he could consume.

Librarian by day, Abby King harbors the deep desire to be stripped of her control, to hand that power over to another and she suspects that the handsome and powerful CEO, Nathaniel West, is just the one to turn her fantasies into reality.

Nathanial is a complicated man, but that is what makes him so interesting and appealing! He is looking for a new submissive and Abby has applied for the “position,” but one there’s one teensy-weensy problem: she has never actually submitted to anyone before and Nathanial doesn’t have the time to train her.

Upon their first meeting, Abby casts her little submissive spell on him and he relents and makes an exception for her. As a Dominant, Nathanial has boundaries that are not to be crossed. He makes it clear that there will be no kissing or post coital cuddling throughout the night. Submissives do not ever sleep in his bed, but rather on the floor, beside his bed, like a good little pet. This unnerves Abby, but she forges ahead in her role as a good little sub, eager to please her new Master.

As the story progresses, it is obvious that Abby needs more than Nathaniel is willing to give, but luckily, thanks to his friends, she is able to uncover vital information into the life and mind of the powerful and ever in control, Nathaniel West. The real question is: Will he ever waver in letting her in to the steel cage that encases his heart?

I would label THE SUBMISSIVE as a contemporary romance laced with BDSM elements, but nothing so extreme that a newbie to this genre can’t handle. This is a great way to dive into the BDSM genre.
